    background

Very rarely did he ever leave the coast of Southern California. In fact, he has only left since his business with the Shootclub Wrestling Alliance.

Mal grew up surfing and swimming what could probably be the equivelant of the length of the planet Earth...twice. Mal's the kind of guy who has so much energy, but can never seem to burn it all.

California is known for it's higher lifestyle, and Mal Jaeger grew up with just that. Although he was well off, he was taught to work for everything he was to obtain.

When first eligible to work, his mother insisted on him becoming employed. Not one to dissappoint his mother, he went out and did just that. He became a part time grocery sacker at the local store to pay for his gas and insurance in the vehicle his parents provided. The vehicle was in minimal driving shape, but it taught him value.

When he wasn't in school or work, he was on the beach. He was never really in the gym, as his constant beach workout set the tone for his great health and incredible body shape for his age.

On a June night of 2001, on his way home from work, he stopped at the corner burger joint. An Italian boy had a toothpick in his mouth, and the Golden State Wrestling Television Championship slung over his shoulder. This man would later become an SWA United States Champion and SWA World Heavyweight Champion, but most know him as Vincent Vazzi.

Never speaking words to each other, Mal did take notice to the way he carried himself as a champion, and how it attracted attention. If Mal ever craved anything, it was attention. He was known to walk around the beach with a European speedo on, just to attract attention. He was always flashy on his surfboard, just to attract the attention. He strived to be the best, mostly for the attention.

Some quick internet research and the passing of a physical, Mal Jaeger was on his way to SWA Headquarters in Atlanta. His ring name, Malibu, was a play off his first name, and a coastal town in California, He was designated to Shootcamp, and then assigned to make his first trip to the other coast, New York's ESW.

    career highlights

Empire State Wrestling August 2001 until December 2001
August 2001- Malibu's first four matches were against Wipe Out. Found way into the Fallen Angels stable, which consisted of Wipe Out, Nanook, Lady Despair, and Sterling Jade. Bumped into Icon.

September 2001- Fuel was added to the fire of the Icon versus Beach Bums feud. Icon was kidnapped, but was later released. Icon in turn captured Malibu.

October 2001- Icon/Wipe Out escalate, but comes to a halt due to Icon ending up in the hospital.

November 2001- Viral Infection (Old School) and The Beach Bums (Rookies) argue about tag team matches, and wrestling in general. Bums are put to the test, but suffer defeat.

December 2001- After being served urine (Golden Flow Beer), Doomsday Connection gets on the bad side of the Beach Bums. The Beach Bums dish out quite a beating, but Doomsday Connection win the final match, at the PPV, in a number one contenders match. Later that night, The Beach Bums are fired by ESW Commissioner, The Icon. Just before the next month, Beach Bums begin to appear on Georgia All-Star Wrestling television. At GAW Winter WonderBash, The Beach Bums interfere in a Hardcore Tag Team Championship match. The Beach Bums win the belts on their match debut.

Georgia All-Star Wrestling January 2002 until June 2002

The Beach Bums become the GAW Tag Team Champions. At the end of the month, The Beach Bums lose the Hardcore Tag Team Championships to Forever Crimson.

April 2002- The Beach Bums sign with UWA, who rivaled all things GAW, and competed in several hardcore style matches. The Beach Bums recapture the GAW Tag Team titles from former SWA Tag Champions, Crazy & Hazey. In this month they lose the titles to PowerHouse members, Power Outage, but recapture them on their first defense. The same thing happens later when they defend against Alpha Omega. By the month's end, The Beach Bums have become four time GAW Tag Team Champions.

May 2002- Beach Bums unify their GAW Tag Team Championships with UWA Tag Champions, Doomsday Connection.

June 2002- Beach Bums face Forever Crimson to defend their GAW Extreme Tag Team Titles at Exodus, but lose as they head north, to Canada

White North Wrestling July 2002 until August 2002
July 2002- Beach Bums lose their debut match to Los Luchadores Locos, but win the next event against Doomsday Connection.

Empire State Wrestling September 2002 until December 2002
September 2002- Beach Bums come back and immediately get involved against Viral Infection, and the rest of OLD School. The Bums have teamed up with the former thorns in their sides, Doomsday Connection, and form an alliance called Beach House. OLD School is VI, Micah King, Seth Drake, Chris Murdock, and managed by Erik Mendell.

October 2002- Malibu loses a table match with VI member Harry I. Venous on Friday Night Fury. The next week, Beach Bums win a triple threat tag match to push them into the finals of the TV Tag Title tournament. Two weeks later, they face off in the finals against Storm Chasers, earning a victory, and becoming the first TV Tag Champs. The next week, however, they lose them to the team they beat in a unification matchup. They end the month winning a surfboard cage match against their rivals, Viral Infection.
